Welcome to

My name is Barry Delaney and I am currently studying Business Information Systems at University College Cork. is a personal site I have designed myself on which to display some of the projects I have done both inside and outside of college.

My interest in web development was sparked by a first year module in Internet Development which encouraged me to design and build my own website. Since then I continued to gain experience and I have worked on web development projects for local businesses. I worked with a startup called Gem Design as a Web Developer during the summer of 2013 and during my time there I worked on many different projects. This proved to be a valuable experience as I learned to work remotely while still working as a team. My time at Gem helped me learn new techniques as well as developing my skills in HTML, CSS3, jQuery and PHP.

In my final year of Business Information Systems I was tasked with developing an idea for my final year project. The idea I decided on was to create an android application that let users easily and quickly create and manage a queue on their mobile device. I named the app Virtual Queue. This project required me to manage all stages of the development lifecycle. I started with analysis and design of the app and converted those designs into a working implemented system.
